Melissa J. Prost

Melissa Prost is a personal injury lawyer at MacGillis Law Group who has dedicated her entire legal career to representing people injured by the negligence or misconduct of others.

Since beginning her practice in 2015, Melissa has focused exclusively on personal injury law. With more than a decade of experience, she represents clients in cases involving automobile and bicycle collisions, trucking collisions, wrongful death, defective products, premises liability, and dog bites and attacks. Known for her skillful and compassionate approach, Melissa works closely with clients to understand their individual circumstances and build a legal strategy around their specific needs and goals.

Melissa earned her Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School with a certificate in litigation. While in law school, she developed her advocacy skills through the Dispute Resolution Society, Client Skills Board, and Moot Court program. She represented Marquette at both the regional and national levels of the American Bar Association’s Representation in Mediation competition and at the Evan A. Evans Moot Court Competition. She also gained courtroom experience through an internship with the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s Office.

Melissa has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star every year since 2021. She is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and has been deeply involved with the Wisconsin Association for Justice, serving as Chair of both its New Lawyers Section and Women’s Caucus and as a member of its Board of Directors. She has also co-authored articles for the Association’s quarterly publication, The Verdict.

She knows clients often come to her during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, and she works to make sure they feel heard, informed, and supported while fiercely advocating for them both inside and outside the courtroom.
